Eligibility

The school is an integral part of the statewide continuum of services for children who are deaf or hard of hearing and serves students ages 3 to 21, from preschool through the 12th grade. The school also serves infants and toddlers in the surrounding area who are deaf or hard of hearing in its 0-3 program.

Valuing a diverse educational community, the Illinois School for the Deaf welcomes applications from students of all races, creeds, colors, and national or ethnic origins. ISD does not discriminate on the basis of race, creed, color, sex, or national/ethnic origins.
