Program Requirements
Guidelines for Early Intervention Services
Any child 0-3 years of age is eligible for Early Intervention service with a hearing loss meeting the following criteria:
30 dB loss in two speech frequencies (500-4000 Hz)
or
35 dB loss in one speech frequency (500-4000 Hz)
Unilateral, conductive or sensorineural losses apply
If a child meets the criteria, a referral to Child & Family Connections (CFC) is warranted with parent permission. If results are due to follow-up from a newborn hearing screening, result are sent to IDPH and a referral is mandated.
